Sculpture I Final Project

For Sculpture I, we were assigned to create a life size sculpture of ourselves with chicken wire and then were to cover it and create ourselves with any desired medium. I have been through serious family issues pertaining to life long illnesses and cancer. I chose to wrap myself in fabrics from home, and to hold myself together with buttons because of the meaning it has to me both as a young woman pursuing a career and her own life, a granddaughter, daughter, sister, aunt, girlfriend and as a human being. Humans are very fragile and it can take one illness or accident to make us fall a part. I chose the fabric and buttons because they are also fragile and can come unwrapped with the littlest mistake or happenstance.
